Privacy & Cookies
This site is a personal project. I collect as little as possible, and I will never sell your data.
The short version
I use Google Analytics only when you opt in. It helps me understand how visitors use the site — which pages get read, how people navigate, and whether the site performs well. That is it. No ad tracking, no data brokerage, no selling or renting your information to anyone. Ever.
What I collect (only if you accept)
If you click Accept analytics, Google Analytics may collect:
- Pages you visit and how long you spend on them
- How you arrived at the site (e.g. a search engine or a direct link)
- General device and browser information (screen size, language, approximate location at country/city level)
- Anonymous usage patterns that help me improve content and site performance
I have configured analytics to anonymize IP addresses and to disable advertising features. I do not use analytics for targeted advertising.
What I do not do
- Sell, rent, or trade your personal data
- Use your data for advertising or profiling
- Load analytics scripts before you give consent
- Share your data with third parties except Google, solely to provide the analytics service you opted into
Cookies and storage
Consent preference: When you make a choice, I store it in your browser’s local storage so I do not ask you on every visit. This preference expires after 12 months, after which you will be asked again.
Analytics cookies (opt-in only): If you accept, Google Analytics may set cookies to distinguish visits and measure site usage. These are not essential to viewing the site.
If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no tracking scripts are loaded.
Legal basis (GDPR & similar laws)
Analytics is based on your explicit consent. You can refuse without any impact on your ability to use this site. You can withdraw consent at any time using the button below or the Cookie preferences link in the site footer.
Third parties
Google Analytics is provided by Google LLC. Google may process data on servers outside your country. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy. You can also use Google’s opt-out browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
How long data is kept
Your consent choice is stored locally for up to 12 months. Google Analytics retention is configured on Google’s side; aggregated usage data is used only for site improvement.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Request information about data processed about you
- Request deletion or correction of personal data
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To exercise these rights, contact me via the contact form on the home page.
